Summary
Breda aims to be a CO2 neutral city by the year 2044. Key to this ambition is the sustainability of business parks within the municipality’s borders. The municipality of Breda, together with 500 companies, is currently looking to make business parks in Breda-Oost independent of the use of natural gas.
Scope TransitionHERO
TransitionHERO has carried out a design study on the possibility to identify a business case for sustainable heat storage and heat supply for some business parks in Breda-Oost.
We looked at a combination of local energy generation with solarPV, solar thermal and wind in combination with battery storage and heat buffering. The combination between green electricity and green heat leads to new opportunities for a flexible energy system.
